Time to get our logistics down for THUDGATE my PEEPS. The model we have always used works great. This will be a put luck affair with everyone chipping in to make it the best tailgate we have ever had. Joining us in supporting this affair will be our great friends and UBER AIR FORCE FOOTBALL FALCON FANATICS, CBS and VIKING. Unfortunately VIKING is only going to be there in spirit, but he is helping us out with making sure the bar is stocked and we owe him a big shout out for all his help. CBS is making his mark Chicago Style by making sure we have some great food to add to the menu and supporting our logistal needs i.e. CBS BE DA MAN!This is an opportunity for you all to show off you culinary capabilities!

One of my buddies is bringing in his chili that will have 9 lbs of elk meat in it and make no mistake, it is fantastic! So get fired up about making your best tailgate dish and bring it baby!

The tailgate area will be placed on the board by LTC, and we are easy to find (see post and diagram below). THUDGATE is found on the far western edge of Lot 3, just at the point where the grass parking lot ends and the paved parking begins. There is a metal chain that runs north-south that seprates the two parking lots that acts as guide to find us. We normally can be found fifty yards north of the southeastern corner of the paved parking area, where you will see the Class of 1961 throwing their tailgate (cannot miss it, usually a big silver and blue colored bus there that has been coverted to an RV and white colored box utility truck that has a huge AF FALCON logo on it. You'll know you're at THUDGATE when you find the blue sun shade, and proudly displayed next to it a large picture of the CIC Trophy!

THUDGATE starts at 1000 hrs (10:00 AM). We will need help in the following areas:

1. Breakfast items like coffee cake, pastries, OJ and other juices, coffee (cream and sugar) etc.

2. Chips and dip all always welcome along with other muchies that you'd like to contribute.
Those items will be especially useful for the post game VICTORY CELEBRATION!

3. Everyone loves desserts so don't be shy in bringing them along.

4. For the morning festivities a couple of bottles of champagne would be welcomed and vodka is another never can have enough of item.

5. We will need several large bottles of tonic and soda, along with mixer additives like lemon and lime juice. Never hurts to have extra soda and liter bottles of Coke, 7UP etc are always needed.

6. We always have a great bar set up, but if you have a specific type of booze you want to enjoy and offer to others, BRING IT! Doctor Weed will be needed because a we will all be raisning our glasses in at the pre-game salute and the shots will be coming hard and fast when we have our TOAST TO THE HOST Victory CELEBRATION post game.

7. For those of you who can bring tables, chairs sun shades, extra trash cans etc, please do so. I'd love to seewho can make up the best BEAT NAVY theme signs/banners so make sure you get your creative juicies flowing on that project (please keep them civil enough to have been displayed inside the stadium if we had the opportunity to do so.) We ABSOLUTELY need a THUDGATE BANNER so if there is someone out there who has some special skill, please work on producing one (Love to see an F-105 on it)!

8. Luxury items needed, good or great cigars to enjoy at the post game VICTORY party!

So there you have it, any suggestions are welcomed and should be added to the list. REMEMBER, THIS IS A POTLUCK AFFAIR, we want you to enjoy yourselves, so if you are in a time crunch and cannot bring a dish or the other needed items, please throw a few bucks in the contributions buckets which will be set up at thegrill and bar areas. When you arrive check in with me, M2 or our volunteers woring the grill and bar and we will have name stickers available for you, which will help us all get to know each other a little better.Thanks to all and you all better be drinking lots of water and getting your rest cuz you're gonna need all the energy you can must to help your UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY FIGHTIN' FALCONS:BEAT NAVY!THUD

Getting ready for NAVY!!!

This THUDGATE will be off the charts!!!!!

Besides our normal "pot-luck", we will have a bunch of catered sides and the meats will be flowing freely!!!

Because this is such a HUGE game, we want to make sure you enjoy it to the fullest. We will have plenty of foods, sides, desserts and beverages. We are making the pot-luck optional for those who are travelling in, or those who want to just sit back and enjoy the "gate".

Recommended buy-in for the feast is $15/pp plus the customary donations to the master of the mix....THUD!!

Bettina to perform national anthem at Navy game

FYI: USAFA has agreed to have recording artist BETTINA sing the National Anthem at the AFA-Navy football game. It is a “first” in that usually the Drum & Bugle Corps does the honors. The game is during her dad’s, Charles V. Bush ’63, BG-1: first Black Grad, 45th reunion. Note that he and Gen Fogelman (ret AF Chief of Staff) are classmates and very good friends.

Youngest Fan at THUDGATE

this beautiful little lady (all of 11 days old) launched herself into the record book eclipsing a certain coaches young son Tyler who attended his first game at the 15 day point. With her little "AF" mittens she was seen cheering loudly and proudly, but called it a day after the win, and a obligatory stop at THUDGATE!!
